One of our volunteer mechanics has donated his lovingly refurbished and upgraded 1968 C-172. The paint is beautiful and the interior and exterior are exceptionally clean! It just completed its Annual inspection. He owned it for 37 years and its obvious that he took very good care of it. In 2000, only 350 hrs ago, he had the engine upgraded to 180 HP, installed a new prop, Horton STOL kit, Flint auxiliary fuel tanks, a new windshield, new plastic/fiberglass fairings control surface tips and had the plane repainted. In addition, while the plane was apart, he painted most of the internal places he could reach and replaced the interior plastic pieces. Last year, he installed a GNX 375 GPS navigator and ADS-B In/Out Transponder. With the 180 HP upgrade, STOL kit, auxiliary fuel tanks, and its gross weight increase to 2,500 lb, this 172 can fly much farther, carry much more, take-off shorter and be much more controllable in slow flight than a brand new 2021 172! See the Spec Comparison below.
