Summary

This 601 XLB is a 2 place experimental with 305 hours Total Time. The plane is hangered in Michigan, about 1.5 hours NE of Detroit. While it does have a current Condition Inspection, it isn’t airworthy as we discovered, during a prospective buyer’s pre-buy inspection, that 2 of the cylinders have cracks in their heads and there is also some corrosion in the top end of the cylinders. The current engine is a Lycoming O-235 that came from a Grumman AA-1B. It will need to be overhauled or replaced with another suitable engine (Rotax, Jabiru, Continental, etc). Prop is a Warp Drive 3 blade, ground adjustable. Avionics include a Comm radio, iFLY GPS navigator and a Garmin 320A Transponder 9tray installed but not yet wired in). A Ballistic parachute is installed but it’s past it’s repack date. The build plans and instructions come with the purchase. This project is being sold “As Is, Where Is” with the intention that it will be trailered out (the 601 is supported on its landing gear when the wings are removed).
