Summary

We received the donation of this classic 1948 Ryan Navion A “Blue Lady”. This version has the Continental E-186-9 engine, with updraft cooling, rated at 205HP for take-off and 185 HP afterwards. Our Navion has 3785 TT and 662 SMOH. The major mods incorporated are; 20 gal aux tank (under rear seat), Alternator replacing the Generator, Rear Step replacing the Front Step, and Airwolf remote mounter oil filter. The avionics are older but the instrument panel was reconfigured in the 6 pack configuration and center avionics layout. We are planning to install an ADSB-Out beacon. We recently ferried it to our headquarters, where our technicians and volunteers are refreshing its Annual Inspection and cleaning up the interior. For those that aren’t familiar with the Navion, they are prized for their roomy, comfortable 4 place cockpits, cruises 150 MPH, great stability, docile, forgiving stall characteristics and exceptional short-field performance. Imagine yourself flying with the canopy partially open and the attention you’ll get pulling up on the ramp of each airport you visit!
